Summary of clip: In this clip, Lara Croft speaks of the planetary alignment and the different stages. In each stage, more and more planets align and eventually the third stage results in a full planetary alignment and a solar eclipse.
Connection of flickclip to the concept: Partial planetary alignments are an astrological occurrence that students will most likely have the opportunity to see at some point in their lives. On the other hand, a full planetary alignment would be very improbable and unlikely event to ever witness.
Suggestions to teachers:
1. Suggested questions for students after viewing the clip:

a. How often do you think a full planetary alignment happens? -(never)

b. What were the first planets to align? The second?

c. Which planets rotate the fastest around the sun? The slowest?

d. What causes a solar eclipse? How often do you think this occurs?

e. What is the difference between a partial and a total eclipse?

2. Teachers can have students then model eclipses by using different size balls and a flashlight.
