Summary of clip: Lisa is going door to door to inform the neighbors of the pollution problem in Lake Springfield. She is met with uninterested neighbors and slamming doors. Milhouse tries to let Lisa know he cares about the environment but is quick to change his opinion when confronted by the town bully. Lisa then meets Colin, who is new in town from Ireland, and equally dedicated to environmental issues.

Connection of flickclip to the concept: This clip introduces the environmental issues of pollution and conservation. It sends the message that just one person reducing their water and energy usage can make a difference. Also nothing will change unless someone cares and takes the initiative to make a change.
Suggestions to teachers:

1. Ask students how we can make changes in the school to become more sustainable (using high efficiency light bulbs, eating less meat, using recycle bags).

2. Develop an awareness campaign to join the “Shorter Shower Challenge” http://www.yousustain.com/challenges/Shorter_Shower_Challenge

3. Find out about any restrictions in your city to improve the pollution or water quality.
