Summary of clip: Halloran walks into the hotel, looking to see if anyone is still alive. Jack jumps out and hits him with an axe right in the chest.Warning: This clip is very violent and intended for mature students.

Connection of this clip to the concept: The cell cycle creates new cells and kills old cells through apoptosis, and getting injured can link how students are able to heal through using the cell cycle.

Suggestions to teachers:
1. Suggested questions for students when viewing the clip:

a. Pretend that Halloran was only injured, what would happen to him? How would he become better?

2. Relate this clip to falling off of a bike or tripping down some stairs. These analogies along with the clip can be used as a hook to get students attention before starting a cell cycle learning cycle.
