Deep Impact (1998)

Concept 1: The headdress of Mayan priests were made from the long feathers of a Central American bird called the Quetzal. However, in the movie, the feathers of the Mayan priests' headdresses came from the Reeve's Pheasant (Syrmaticus reevesii), which is native to China.

Concept 2: There is an old man, at the Mayan City, who is said to have Kuru, also known as the laughing sickness. Kuru was not identified until the 1900s (long after the movie takes place), and is found in Papua New Guinea. Kuru has never been noted in Central America, where the movie takes place.
