2. Students can go to http://www.nodc.noaa.gov/ to research characteristics of the ocean. This website has multiple different data resources, including wave data, regarding the ocean. This can give students an opportunity to use technology and gather data.

4. A wonderful resource called Science Netlinks offers a 3-part lesson on boats. These lessons entail researching different types of ships, building and testing of boats of their own, and learning about cases in which ships failed (Titanic and Vasa).
