Summary of clip: In this scene Willy Wonka (Johnny Depp) is demonstrating one of his ongoing experiments.  In this experiment Willy has a large candy bar turned into particles and transported into a TV set, where anyone is able to reach in and grab it.  After seeing this occur Mike Teavee (Jordan Fry) decides to send himself into the TV set just as the candy bar had been.  He is a naughty little boy!

Connection of flickclip to the concept: This clip relates well to the properties of matter and particle and wave theories.

Suggestions to teachers:
1. Suggested questions for students when viewing the clip:

a. What about the properties of matter makes this a difficult task?

b. Do you think this experiment is something that could happen in the future?

c. In what other useful ways could this type of particle movement be used?

2. Have the students imagine what they would like to use this particle movement for. Bring up ideas such as getting "beamed" in Star Trek.

3. Start a discussion on particles, waves and the property of matter.
